Adapted from an original series of 14 high fantasy novels by Robert Jordan, The Wheel of Time is set in a world where magic exists, but only some can access it. The story follows the world-spanning journey of the Moiraine, a member of Aes Sedai, a powerful organisation of women who can channel the One Power. Moiraine leads the group of five young people to find the reincarnation of the Dragon.

Union delivered wide and varied VFX for the Amazon Studios’ series, led by production VFX supervisor Julian Parry and VFX producer Jakub Chilczuk.

DFX Supervisor Dean Koonjul led Unions’ work on the show.

The team created a number of full CG environments as well as top-up extensions. They also delivered extensive FX animation for the Shadow Monster in Shadar Logoth as well as a fully CG horse as it’s engulfed by it.

Other work included digi-double animation and FX as well as the addition and integration of CG props with live-action actors.
